From history 
 

This extraordinary Kosice building is a national cultural monument dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. In the past, the hotel was also the home and studio of the famous Košice painter Gejza Kieselbach, who found inspiration and space to create his most famous paintings in this very place. In his memory, the hotel's café called Kieselbach coffe was created, which, in addition to enjoying unique quality art coffee, also offers an unusual atmosphere and the design of the space directly reflects his artistic and aesthetic sensibility. As in the café, you will also find original artefacts from the painter's life that tell his stories.

The building has served as a hotel since 2012 when it underwent a complete renovation and modernization, and in the hotel's library you can see a photo collage of the original building and its transformation. More info about the history of the hotel.
